In conjunction with one of our clients we are supporting a working farm. Whilst we are already gaining a significant amount of meat, dairy and free range eggs from the farm and creating wonderful dishes, we aim to provide the best produce at all our sites.

As a company, Talkington Bates fully recognises that positive impact that free-range and outdoored reared food brings both to the environment, our health and the business and purchases such items where possible.

Clearly, producing meat in a free-range or outdoor reared system is a far more ethical method of producing meat, allowing the animal to have a “happy” life whilst growing and being prepared for slaughter.

The taste of this meat is also far superior to its mass produced counterparts and whilst usually being more expensive to purchase, most cuts can be used for more than one meal (for example a free-range chicken, can be roasted or dejointed for a dish, with the main carcass then being used to make a delicious stock for a chicken noodle soup).
